    Hi,
thanx for this great plugiN! 2 questions:
    1. is there a way to make the black button (trigger) smaller in hight? I see that by changing the fontsize, that button size changes also. But I would like to have the font by 12, but the button around maybe 20px in hight or so.
2.I was able to change the font color on the hover effect. But I’m not able to see any color change in the normal button state of the font color. Tried different hex-colors for normal state also in the css, but nothing worked :-(

    Hi Eddie84,
any ideas to my questions in post #3?

Another Question: The panel isn’t showing on my frontpage, even though I have content in it. Hm, very strange AND sad. Any ideas?!
    thanx in advance,
    Martin

    • avatar Eddie84 scrive:

for last question plugin isn’t designed to showing in frontpage because a lot of services don’t allow sharing frontpage. For the question in #3 you have to modify padding for example 0px 40px 0px 15px, and to change font color you have to add color:#HEX in a.trigger and replace HEX with your hex color…

  8. avatar Chris scrive:

Thanks for the great plugin. I’m having a problem though, the panel sharing plugin shows up only on article pages that are linked to the main menu. It is not showing on article pages that have the ID number in the URL, as you can see on my site. I’m using core SEF. Do you have any suggestions to fix this problem?

  9. avatar Chris scrive:

Ok I found out the conflict is with another plugin I’m using on those pages called superblogger. I disabled superblogger and the panel sharing plugin showed up fine. I’d like to use both plugins though, any suggestions? Thanks for your time

    Hello from Finland,
this looks very promising indeed. A few wishes, though…

    1) can you tell somewhere how Fixed [px] and Margin [px] numbers relate to template? Ie. is fixed number calculated from template side -minus meaning going out from template area and +plus going inside the template area? Or is this from the centerline of template? Or something else? Same question about Margin px value…

    2) I think the possibility to change the order of units would be a nice addition.

    3) Have you thought about Flattr button? I’m using custom area now but I think others might start using Flattr in the future, too. You can find about Flattr microdonation system from here
    https://flattr.com/about
I think you’d get loads of flattr’s for yourself if you started using it yourself, too :-)

Excellent job as it is, keep it going!

In the most cases the panel appear at left or right 0 related to the browser, in some cases with some templates it appear at left or right 0 related to the content… i think it depend from those templates, but you can try to override css…
this is the first time I read about flattr, in the next release I’ll add this button and a system to change order of units….

I’ve been testing different options but hit dead end when it comes to positioning the panel.

Effect -> None works but it kind of kills the idea of the plugin. Panel disappears when you roll down and all that…

Effect -> Fixed is strange, when (I think) is visible the panel jumps inside the content-panel (in FF it’s next to text so ok – but in IE8 it’s on top of text thus rendering text unreadable). When I roll down enough and disappears, panel jumps into different position (according to fixed px).

And here starts the problem – in IE8 panel shows ok when it’s positioned outside content-panel but in FF3.6 plugin panel is cut along the content-panel edge. Plugin-panel outside of content-panel area is invisible, ugh…
Here’s a .jpg about what I tried to explain:
    http://zup.samassaveneessa.info/PanelShareSidebar.jpg

I tried commenting overflow: hidden (mentioned earlier in this page) out everywhere in my template but no effect at all. You mentioned overriding css but I don’t really know what that means (css-moron, sorry). I’d love some simple how-to-do about positioning the plugin-panel outside content-panel via css. If you don’t have time then some www-page to read should work, too.

I don’t really like Effect -> Float as with it plugin-panel is rolling up and down a little too erraticly. I’m sure somebody likes it, though.

Thank you for all your efforts.

Wow – I DLed Scrolling Share Plugin but explained as if I was using Panel Sharing Plugin. Now that I know what I’m talking about…

I installed Panel Sharing Plugin and tweaked it quite a lot, please check how it looks like to you (go here). I’ll happily send you .php and .xml -files if you want…

I obviously have some issue with my template as when either plugin is used outside content panel it doesn’t show in FF. Works in IE8, though. Funny that, usually problems are with IE-family…

Any way to show the plugin on the front page?

I think you could post cross links in your Joomla extensions page on both of the plugins ie. refer to each other. That way users could find and compare them easier (and not make mix-ups like me LOL).

    • avatar Eddie84 scrive:

I’ve modified your css with Firebug in order to see the changes, so deleting overflow-x and overflow-y from the content class and modifying the position from absolute to fixed in the panel css, you’ll see the panel on the left side of the browser…

    Hello there,
I think Imageshack has implemented some new rules, which is you can only see the “direct link” images if you are registered to Imageshack. All i see is the frog on ice on the plugin image.

I suggest to use imgur.com or other image hosting sites.

Also, How can we customize the plugin itself?

    Thanks.

  31. Hello,

Sorry in advance for my “google translation” I am French.

I can not activate my social bar in my site, but it is displayed.
In addition the area reserved for drag and drop buttons, do not display images, but displays small white squares, like when the image is missing. I do not know why there has this problem.

    Thank you in advance
    Pls answer me quickly.
